01 — SMARTER FARMING
Smarter Farming.
Continuous, in-situ soil data for growers and agricultural operators.
TerraTeQ delivers continuous, in-situ root-zone data to the farmers, growers, and agronomists who need it most. The TerraQ System is designed to be deployed directly in the crop environment — monitoring the soil chemistry that determines fertigation accuracy and irrigation timing, continuously, per zone, without infrastructure.
Most fertigation and irrigation decisions are still made on assumptions — calendar schedules, averaged sensor readings, or visual inspection of the crop canopy. By the time a problem is visible above ground, the yield or grade is already affected. TerraPod places measurement directly in the root zone, where the decision-relevant conditions are actually happening. TerraCloud translates that data into zone dashboards and rule-based alerts that tell you what to do, not just what the numbers are.
WHAT THE SYSTEM DELIVERS
- More precise fertigation control — validate root-zone pH, nitrate, ammonium, and potassium before applying inputs
- Lower water and fertiliser waste by acting on measured conditions rather than calendar schedules
- Earlier stress detection — catch developing problems before they affect marketable yield or grade
- Zone-based deployment — treat irrigation zones independently, not as whole-field averages
- A structured path to quantified ROI through seasonal data and zone comparison
WHO IT IS FOR
- Greenhouse vegetable growers — tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and similar high-value crops
- Vineyard and fruit orchard operators
- High-value open-field vegetable producers
- Agricultural cooperatives and advisory programmes managing multiple growers
02 — RESEARCH PROGRAMMES
Research Programmes.
Continuous soil and environmental data for scientific research.
Applied research increasingly depends on data evidence that conventional sampling cannot provide. Studying soil carbon, nutrient cycling, water dynamics, or plant-soil interactions requires measurements that are continuous, spatially resolved, and collected directly in the field environment — not estimated from periodic grab samples or modelled from surface proxies.
The TerraQ System gives research programmes continuous, multi-parameter root-zone data at the resolution field science actually requires. TerraPod measures pH, nitrate, ammonium, potassium, soil moisture, and temperature simultaneously in defined study plots. TerraNode solar stations make deployment viable in remote and infrastructure-limited sites. TerraCloud provides structured data access and export for scientific analysis. No field lab, no manual collection schedule, no data gaps.
WHAT THE SYSTEM PROVIDES
- Continuous, high-frequency root-zone measurements across defined study plots and zones
- Simultaneous measurement of six parameters — pH, NO₃⁻, NH₄⁺, K⁺, soil moisture (VWC), and temperature
- Configurable sampling cadence — from every 5 minutes to multi-day intervals depending on study design
- Structured data export for statistical analysis, publication workflows, and external platform integration
- TerraNode solar stations for remote and infrastructure-limited site deployment
- QA/QC audit trail and calibration history — traceable, publication-ready data
RELEVANT RESEARCH CONTEXT
- Soil science — nutrient cycling, carbon dynamics, water-soil interaction
- Climate adaptation and land-use research
- Agroecology, sustainable farming systems, and soil health studies
- Plant physiology and crop stress research
- Environmental and soil quality monitoring programmes
- Agronomic validation trials and advisory programmes
03 — ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMMES
Environmental & Public-Sector Programmes.
Real soil and environmental data for agencies, conservation initiatives, and public bodies.
Environmental policy, land management, and conservation science depend on ground-truth soil and land condition data. That data is currently collected infrequently, at low spatial resolution, and at high cost per data point — making it difficult to detect change, validate interventions, or support evidence-based policy at the scale the problems demand.
TerraTeQ provides the sensing infrastructure for continuous, distributed environmental monitoring. TerraNode solar stations and TerraPod sensor hubs can be deployed across conservation areas, agricultural catchments, and rewilding sites without mains power or civil works. TerraCloud provides centralised data access, zone comparison, and structured reporting — accessible to multiple stakeholders without sharing credentials.
PROGRAMME APPLICATIONS
- Sustainable land management and soil health tracking
- Water retention, drainage, and soil moisture monitoring
- Climate adaptation and land-use change assessment
- Conservation area and rewilding programme monitoring
- Agricultural environmental scheme compliance and
- Cooperative programmes and public-sector advisory services
WHAT IT DELIVERS
- Continuous data from distributed field sites — no manual collection schedule
- Multi-site overview through TerraCloud — all zones visible from one interface
- Structured export for regulatory reporting and research integration
- Role-based access — share data with stakeholders without sharing credentials
- Solar-powered infrastructure — viable in remote and infrastructure-limited locations
04 — R&D PARTNERSHIPS
R&D and Horizon Europe Partnerships.
A deep-tech SME partner for European research consortia.
TerraTeQ participates in Horizon Europe and national R&D programmes as a technology provider, work package contributor, and consortium coordinator. We bring the TerraQ ecosystem — TerraPod sensors, TerraNode field stations, and TerraCloud platform — as sensing infrastructure within larger research programmes addressing soil health, food systems, climate resilience, and sustainable agriculture.
Our active research collaborations include EPFL, Tel Aviv University, Politecnico di Torino, Johns Hopkins, the University of Cyprus, and others across Europe and internationally. We have experience in EU consortium governance, technical work package leadership, and the integration of field sensing data into broader programme deliverables. TerraTeQ is currently the lead coordinator of AgriProAct, an EU-funded project combining soil sensing, satellite data, and AI for climate-resilient agriculture.
